LATEST NEWS

09/05/06 - 9:37pm
It's been 10 days since we returned from our trip and it's taken that long to process our pictures. Due to the high demand for Hawaii photos, we processed them first. Photos from the first leg of our trip (San Francisco) will be posted later, as will all of our previous summer events. Until then, over 250 photos from our visit to Hawaii are now available in the photo gallery. Enjoy!

p.s. - To avoid a finger cramp from clicking through all the photos, we recommend you click on the "S" button above the first photo and let the gallery's automatic slideshow do the rest for you. Don't say we didn't warn you!

08/19/06 - 8:23am
I know, I know...three months between updates? What gives? Well, saying "we've been busy" is a bit of an understatement. Even though summer seems like it has FLOWN by, we packed in plenty of activities & events to make the most of it. In fact, our final adventure of the summer begins in 23 hours and 17 minutes: we are heading to Hawaii for a 7-day vacation to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary! Zach and Zoe will spend the week with Grandma and PaPa Boren. Since we haven't packed yet (eep!), we'll have to wait until after we get back to post a complete update (and photos) of all our summer events. We did already post some photos from the summer, including Jenn's birthday party, but there are MANY more coming soon...family reunion, Bob's soccer season, Zach & Zoe's swimming lessons, Jenn's San Diego trip, Astros baseball, and various other "Summer 2006" snapshots. See? We HAVE been busy! And then there's Hawaii... : )

One milestone we have to share now is Zoe reaching the age of 18 months yesterday. Latest developments: she has eight teeth, continues learning new words (and clearer pronunciations), and has fine-tuned her sense of independence. She is well aware (and makes it known to the rest of us) what she does and does not like. As you can imagine, one of her new favorite words is "mine!" On September 1st Zoe will graduate from her current day care and join Zach at his pre-school. That will be a much better situation for all of us. Zoe's 18-month photo has been posted.

We promise to provide a full update on everything shortly after returning from our trip. ALOHA!!

05/10/06 - 10:56pm
Before we give you all the latest updates on the kids, we want to take a moment to wish Grandpa Rich a Happy Birthday today! Hope you had a great one!

The month of April (and early May) brought with it some more great weather, more outings and a even couple of "graduations" for the Rich kids. Zach graduated from his tricycle to an official two-wheel "Big Boy Bike" with training wheels. We have already embarked on several after-school bike rides over the past few weeks, and Zach couldn't be prouder. Mama likes to say that if he could strut while riding a bike, he'd certainly be doing it. As such, we dedicated a new photo album to Zach and his new bike in our photo gallery. Zoe also graduated recently. She moved out of her crib and into a "Big Girl Bed" this past weekend. She's growing so fast and although she has outgrown the crib, she suddenly looks so tiny when sleeping in her twin bed. After only two nights in her new bed, Zoe figured out something that took Zach a few months to learn when he first moved out of the crib...how to get out of the twin bed (i.e. over the rail and onto the floor). Fortunately she hasn't grown enough to reach the door knob and open the door...yet. Zoe has also started brushing her teeth, now that she has two on the bottom and two more breaking through on top. Yeah, we took pictures of her brushing her teeth, too. Are you surprised?

Other "developments" include Zoe learning to talk more (thank you, shoes, outside, mama, dada, Zach) and Zach writing his name without assistance for the first time, which he did on Grandpa's birthday card. We scanned it in for posterity sake and posted it to our "Various Snapshots" album in the photo gallery for all to see.

The whole family traveled to Austin in late April to visit Jenn's sister Laura and niece Stephanie on their "farm". Zach and Zoe enjoyed seeing all the farm animals including cows, sheep, donkeys, goats, peacocks and dogs. You want pictures? We've got 'em. The highlight of the trip for Zach & Zoe was playing with all the baby goats that had been born earlier that week. One of the highlights of the trip for Mama & Daddy was grabbing a sandwich at Thundercloud Subs (a staple of our weekly - sometimes daily - diet when we lived in Austin in the late 90s). We haven't taken any other significant trips since March, but have been enjoying the spring/summer weather outside. Several other pictures of recent activities closer to home have been posted to our "Fun Pics" and "Various Snapshots" albums, bringing our current photo total to 2,467. I guarantee we'll break 2,500 this summer without even trying.

03/30/06 - 12:09pm
Several updates since last month...

Zoe's surgery to get tubes in her ears went successfully and she seems to have since overcome the ear infection problem, in spite of a couple of colds. The lack of ear infections may have also improved her balance, because she is now walking full time and getting better at it every day. Also, she is starting to have intelligible (though short) conversations with us...i.e. we can often tell what she's talking about when she babbles and points. Zoe is also off the bottle and eating table food exclusively, which is very nice from a convenience and cost perspective.

Zach continues to make progress in potty training and should be self-sufficient in that area before too long...at least, we're anxious for when that time comes. Zach's motor skills are improving almost daily when it comes to writing/drawing and his pictures are starting to look like the things he intends to draw. He is extremely smart with identifying shapes, letters, numbers and colors...and of course, animals and what sounds they make. So far we're very impressed with what he is learning each day at preschool. And Zach really enjoys it, too, because he has several friends and they do fun activities...for example, "Go Western" day where he got to dress up as a cowboy and see real farm animals that came to visit the school.

After Bob traveled on business to DC twice and Jenn traveled on business to Austin once, all within the last four weeks, we took advantage of the beautiful weather this past weekend and went on several outdoor "adventures" with the kids. Saturday morning we got up and headed to Waco to meet up with Grandpa Rich & Becky and Uncle Brian & Aunt Alissa before heading over to the Cameron Park Zoo. We were pleased to find that all the "must-see" animals were there (lions, tigers, bears, giraffes & elephants), and the whole family had a great time. Back in College Station on Sunday morning, we headed out to take our annual bluebonnet pictures (quite the Texas tradition for those of you not from around here). On the way home from taking bluebonnet pictures, Bob asked if we should stop at McDonald's for cheeseburgers, to which Zach replied, "No, Daddy...you're silly! Old McDonald didn't have a cheeseburger! Old McDonald had a FARM!" As you can tell, up to this point our kids were not familiar with McDonald's as so many kids at their age already are. So we stopped for cheeseburgers and enjoyed lunch together before Bob & Zach moved on to their next adventure: an Aggie baseball game! Zach had never been to an Aggie baseball game, but had proved himself to be a good-luck charm at the football & basketball games he attended over the past year. Zach seemed to enjoy every minute of the game and all the sights and sounds that go with it. (If you've never been to an Aggie baseball game, let me tell you...there is NEVER a dull moment. Lots to see even when not much is going on down on the field.) Zach still loves choo-choo trains and so his enjoyment at the game was heightened even more as trains routinely chugged down the tracks behind the field, well within view (and earshot) of everyone in the stands. Of course, Zach made sure everyone knew when he saw a train, jumping up and down, pointing and yelling, "A choo-choo train!! A choo-choo train!!" And, once again, Zach brought good luck to the Aggies as they overcame a 4-2 deficit against the Texas Tech Red Raiders and scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th inning to win the game! If all that wasn't enough excitement, immediately following the game, Zach also got to run the bases with the other kids in attendance. As you can imagine, we all slept extremely well on Sunday night.

As usual, Bob had the camera on hand during all the weekend activities, and literally hundreds of pictures have been added to our website as a result (thus the 4-day delay in getting them posted). Pictures of this past weekend's adventures can be found in the three latest albums in our photo gallery: "Cameron Park Zoo 2006", "Bluebonnets 2006" and "Texas A&M vs. Texas Tech Baseball 2006". Be sure to also check out other albums for recently added "Fun Pics", "Various Snaphots" and the like.

02/18/06 - 7:33pm
Last weekend we went to Grandma and PaPa Boren's house for Grandma's birthday. The whole Boren clan was there to help celebrate. We didn't take many pictures, but they are available for viewing in our photo gallery. Also, Zoe turned the big 0-1 today!! We had a small family gathering to celebrate and she now has her entire summer wardrobe! As always, pictures from the celebration are posted to our photo gallery. Check them out! Zoe is getting to be quite the big girl. (If you don't believe us, check out the 1 year photo we've added to "Our Growing Girl" photo album.) She now has two teeth on the bottom and is very close to walking on her own. She's currently doing the "Step 1, 2, then Lunge" routine, but she used to just lunge, so it won't be long! She's had some problems with ear infections (sound familiar??) and is scheduled to get tubes on March 3rd. Hopefully, the tubes will help as much as they did for Zach.

Zoe's 1st Birthday

02/02/06 - 8:12pm
Last weekend we took the kids to the George Bush Presidential Library to see the train exhibit. OK, we didn't really see the exhibit, but we did go for a ride around Research Park on a miniature train. Zach and Zoe both seemed to have a really good time. Pictures from our brief visit to the Bush Library and train ride have been posted to our photo gallery.

01/19/06 - 9:24pm
While cleaning out closets and boxes a couple of weeks ago, we came across several floppy disks with scanned photos from the 1970s, 1980s & 1990s. Most are of Bob growing up, but the last several show the two of us from when we were dating through our first year of marriage. Although the quality of some of the pictures left a lot to be desired, it was still fun to look through all of them and remember our "former lives". We obviously have no regrets, just fond memories. The recently rediscovered photos have been posted for your enjoyment in the new "Retro" photo album in our photo gallery.

01/18/06 - 7:55pm
Zoe turned 11 months old today. We can't believe she'll be a year old next month!! She isn't walking yet, but she's getting close. She can balance herself standing up without support for longer periods of time, and we practice walking on a daily basis. While Zoe continues to try new foods all the time, she still has NO TEETH! Even so, that doesn't stop her from munching on crackers, cereal bars and all kinds of fruit & veggies. She can also drink juice from a sippy cup now, so the baby bottle days are numbered! Zoe goes nuts over Zach's remaining birthday balloons, so we're sure to get her some for her birthday next month. She is so funny to watch! She is also starting to form recognizable words like "bye-bye", "banana" and "no-no" and loves to imitate Zach's silly sounds...and there are plenty to keep her entertained. Zoe's 11-month photo has been posted to "Our Growing Girl" album in the photo gallery for all to see.

01/09/06 - 12:05pm
Believe it or not, Zach turned three years old on Saturday! A few friends and family members stopped by to celebrate and help him eat his "big, big, birthday cookie." Photos from the party as well as Zach's "official" 3-year Growing Boy photo have been posted to our photo gallery.

01/01/06 - 7:47pm
This past weekend Jenn found out that we are going to Hawaii in August to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary. Needless to say, both of us are excited and counting the seconds until we leave: Bob & Jenn's Countdown to Hawaii

12/31/05 - 7:08pm
Zach & Zoe had a wonderful Christmas, the highlight of which was a backyard playhouse that Santa brought! Christmas photos are now posted to our photo gallery, bringing the 2005 year-end total to 2,072 photos posted for your enjoyment. Grandpa Rich also has Christmas photos to share. Click here to see them. Here's to another year full of family, fun and plenty of blessings. Happy New Year!

12/21/05 - 2:30pm
We're a little late posting Zoe's 10-month picture, but November through January are VERY busy months for us. Zoe continues to grow and learn, most recently adding "uh-oh!" to her vocabulary. She also claps on queue when someone says "yay!" She's crawling on hands and knees like a pro and already pulling up on furniture, walls, pant legs...anything that will help her balance, and she cruises around the living room table like she's been doing it for months. She's not quite at the age to fully appreciate Christmas, but she sure enjoys looking at all the pretty lights and colors!

Zach on the other hand, is really absorbing Christmas this year. He's learning all about it at school, and although he adamantly refuses to sit on Santa's lap for a picture, everything else is exciting to him. We let him decorate our tree, so if any photos happen to show our ornaments bunched together and none above about 3 feet off the ground, you'll understand why. Zach also really enjoy's looking at the "Christmas houses" (lights) all over town and singing Christmas carols. For the first couple of weeks of December, we were often treated to the following 'medley' as Zach learned the words to Jingle Bells:

"Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way. Old McDonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O!"

He has since corrected himself when he sings Jingle Bells, which we're proud of and also a little sad about. It's amazing how much you miss the cute little things like that as they grow up.

We hope everyone has a safe & happy holiday and look forward to seeing several more family & friends over the next week. We'll update the site again as soon as we can!

11/25/05 - 7:24pm
Zach & Zoe had their Christmas portraits taken at school earlier this month, and we picked them up this week. Both have been posted to the "Kids' Portraits" album in our photo gallery.

11/18/05 - 11:04pm
Zoe is 9 months old today! Her most recent photo can be found in the photo gallery in Our Growing Girl album.

11/6/05 - 5:52pm
This weekend was the First Annual Rich Boys Weekend, a time for the men of the Rich family to get together and do "guy stuff" like camping, fishing, cooking out, etc. Grandpa Rich, Brian, Bob & Zach spent the weekend at Fort Parker, Texas - a favorite destination for Bob & Brian as kids. Photos from the Rich Boys Weekend 2005 have been posted to our photo gallery.

Brian also took some photos with his camera. They can be seen here: http://www.flyfolk.com/gallery/.

11/01/05 - 10:14pm
Pictures from this year's various Halloween activites have been posted. Enjoy!

10/28/05 - 12:38pm
Bob was in Washington, DC this week for a four-day business trip. While this was his third visit to our Nation's Capital, it was the first trip that afforded him the opportunity to do some sightseeing. As usual, we have photos galore! See the photo gallery for the latest additions from Bob's DC trip as well as some more of our Halloween pumpkin carving endeavors. And no, it's not over yet.

10/22/05 - 2:07pm
It's about a week early, but we had to go ahead and carve a pumpkin in honor of the Astros making it to the World Series. Gotta love late October!

Astros Pumpkin

10/18/05 - 7:57pm
A whole lot has gone on in the past month. First of all, Zoe is now 8 months old and has made progress in several areas over the past few weeks. She can clap her hands, crawl on her belly (soldier-style), pull up onto her knees, and is even talking! Mamamamama and dadadadada are her favorite "words" so far, but she tries out new sounds daily. Check out the new "Videos" section of the Photo Gallery for a cute sample. Zoe's 8-month photo is also posted.

Zoe has grown to a point where she no longer fits in the baby-carrier and has graduated to a larger car seat, which she inherited from Zach. Fortunately for Zach, this means he was able to get a new "cool seat" and he now wears a regular seat belt just like Mama and Daddy. Zach is still growing, too, and will "graduate" from his current day care and move on to another preschool in November. He went with Daddy to his first official Aggie football game last weekend and had a great time. Pictures from that game against Oklahoma State as well as the nail-biter against Baylor two weeks before are posted to the Photo Gallery.

A little over two months in, Bob still loves his job managing the support desk at K2Share. More importantly, Jenn has finally found an opportunity to pursue a career directly related to her degree in Environmental Science. Early next month Jenn will start working for the City of Bryan as a GIS Technician. We are all ecstatic about this change, and no one more than Jenn.

It's been an enjoyable month with cooler weather coming through, Aggie football and Astros baseball to get excited about and new opportunities and accomplishments throughout the family. We'll continue to keep you posted on the latest as the year winds down!

09/18/05 - 9:42pm
Zoe is 7 months old today! She is still on jarred baby food and has moved on to meats. She's also started on a few finger foods like Cheerios, green beans and small pieces of fruit. Zoe sits up extremely well on her own and we've noticed a few attempts at getting into a crawling position. Unfortunately, screaming practice has become one of her favorite activities recently. Zoe's 7-month photo, along with several other new ones, can be found in our photo gallery.

Zach is also continuing to grow...too big for his britches, sometimes. He has become very bossy lately, telling everyone what to do and how to do things. Zach loves watching the Astros and the Aggies, and this is the perfect time of year for both! Zach also likes to help Daddy play the guitar and sing. He went to a classmate's birthday party yesterday and had so much fun, he told us today that he wants a "Happy Birthday" too. It's still a few months before he turns three, but fortunately there will be plenty going on between now and then to distract him: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.

08/20/05 - 2:30pm
The following photos and albums were added to our photo gallery today:

"Summer 2005" - various photos taken May through August 2005
"Various Snapshots" - individual photos taken throughout the past few years that just don't seem to fit into any of the other categories.
Zach's under water photo was added to the "Swim Lessons 2005" album
Several formerly misplaced bluebonnet photos were added to the "Bluebonnets & Easter Eggs 2005" album

Total photos on the site now number 1,622. We agree...it's insane.

08/18/05 - 11:59pm
Zoe is a 1/2 year old today! We can't believe it's already been six months since we brought our baby girl home. Zoe has improved her balance and is sitting up on her own at longer and longer intervals. She has recently added vegetables to her diet, but still loves those bananas. Her laugh is getting bigger and louder every day, and since it's usually in reaction to something Zach does, he seems to get sillier and sillier every day trying to make his little sister laugh even more! She's growing and learning very quickly...too quickly...but we're loving every minute of it.

To help celebrate Zoe turning 6-months old today, we have revamped our photo gallery once again. At the time of this news entry, we have 1,525 photos in 44 different albums posted to our site so far (including Zoe's 6-month "Growing Girl" photo)...too many for our previous gallery format to be able to continue handling efficiently. While more robust, the new format allows for faster, easier navigating and provides several fun features we didn't even think of before. The new photo gallery is located at http://www.richaggies.com/photos. Compared to our old format, it may look complicated at first, but you'll be whizzing around the photos in no time. Before you take a look, we recommend you check out our Photo Gallery Guidelines to help you get the most out of the gallery on your first visit. Let us know what you think!

08/06/05 - 7:45am
I (Bob) just got home from my last day with the company I've worked for since January 2000. The facility itself had been open since November 15, 1999, but today at 7:30am, I was the last one to walk out as it closed its doors forever. The building I walked out of this morning had housed a 500-seat, 24 x 7 x 365 call center and since the day it opened, there were always cars in the parking lot, lights and computers powered on and people inside working, no matter what time of day or night you passed by. It was surreal to walk out of that building by myself this morning as the "last man standing"...all the offices and cubicles now empty, all the phones silent, the parking lots barren except for one last car. Frankly, it was depressing. (photos) As I headed home, I realized why I was more depressed than I had expected to be when this day finally arrived. I had worked there for 2,015 of the 2,091 days the center had been open, and I met and became friends with literally hundreds of people during that time. It's the people I'll miss the most.

So begins the next chapter of my career. I start with a new company on Monday morning...one that brings a great deal of promise and seems to have an incredibly bright future. I look forward to forging ahead with renewed excitement...

07/24/05 - 7:42pm
As mentioned before, Zach had an underwater photo made during swim lessons last week. Here it is!

Underwater Zach - July 20, 2005

07/19/05 - 7:15am
Several updates made this morning...

First, Zoe turned 5 months old yesterday and her 5-month photo has been added to Our Growing Girl photo album. Zoe can now roll over from her back to her front and vice versa. She is also VERY close to sitting up on her own. While formula is still her main course, Zoe is now experimenting with fruit and loves bananas, just like her brother!

Our family reunion on Bob's paternal grandmother's side (Riley Reunion) was held on the weekend of July 8-10 at Lake Somerville, Texas. Zach spent the night with Grandpa & Becky in their RV ("big, big truck") on Friday night. Early Saturday morning before Mama, Daddy & Zoe arrived, Grandpa had taken Zach fishing and he caught FIVE fish! Once the whole family arrived, we swam in the lake, ate good food (including popcicles!) and visited with relatives we see only once a year. Pictures from this year's reunion can be found in the Riley Reunion 2005 album in our Photo Gallery.

Zach is currently enrolled in a two-week swim class in College Station. The best part is that Daddy gets to join him in the pool. For the first five minutes of the first day Zach was a little apprehensive of getting in the pool, but before the first lesson was over, he was going under water and loving it. He's getting really good at using his arms, kicking his feet and blowing bubbles. Mama & Zoe came to watch on the second day and took some pictures, which we posted to the Photo Gallery. Rumor has it that on the last day of class they take an underwater photo. If so, it will certainly be posted here soon after.

Finally, day care was at it again bringing the professional photographers on site and emptying our bank accounts for more awesome pictures. Click on each picture to see the larger version.

07/04/05 - 8:28pm
Happy 4th of July! We spent all day yesterday at Grandma & PaPa Boren's house with several of Zach & Zoe's aunts, uncles & cousins. The day was filled with various activities including fishing, croquet, baseball, dominoes, and of course great food. No pictures this time...instead, we added a new July 4th Weekend 2005 video to our video gallery. The video is over 50 MB in size, so if you are not on high-speed internet, we don't recommend trying to download. Instead, shoot us an email and we'll send you a Video CD you can play in your computer or DVD player.

06/28/05 - 8:35pm
We took Zach & Zoe to their first Houston Astros baseball game yesterday. Zoe did surprisingly well for all the noise, and Zach seemed to have a really good time. We picked a really great game to see: the Astros beat the Texas Rangers 3-2 with an exciting finale in the 10th inning! After the game, Zach & Daddy even got to run the bases! As usual, camera was in hand and you can see the pictures from our trip in our Photo Gallery.

We also added a few more photos to our Fun Pics album. Enjoy!

06/21/05 - 8:07pm
Zoe's 4-month photo has been added to Our Growing Girl album. She continues to experiment with her voice and "talks" quite a bit. She also squeals with laughter, usually when watching Zach at play. She tries so hard to sit up on her own, and though she doesn't quite have her balance mastered yet, we know it won't be long.

05/29/05 - 6:08pm
For those of you who think we only take one picture of Zoe each month, get a load of THIS!

05/19/05 - 7:54pm
Zoe's 3-month photo has been added to Our Growing Girl photo album. She started daycare this week and is doing well, though it's still pretty tough on Mama to have to drop her off in the mornings. Zach is extremely proud to have Zoe in his "school" and loves to show her off to his classmates...but he also sternly instructs them, "Don't touch my Zoe!" We're interested to see what Zach does when Zoe starts dating! Zoe continues to flash that beautiful smile, she's able to turn her head & eyes to follow objects and she even reaches out when you hold a toy in front of her. She starting to talk a little bit now also, making cooing sounds and practicing her G's. And best of all, she's finally sleeping through the night! YAY!

05/01/05 - 3:45pm
Bob had another business trip this week, this time travelling back to San Francisco. Photos from his trip can be seen by visiting the main photo gallery page using the links on the left. Photos from this trip include spectacular views of the city from the home of one of Bob's California-based business associates, Keith.

04/24/05 - 11:30am
Zoe's 2-month photo has been added to Our Growing Girl photo album. She's smiling more and (as you can see from the picture) getting stronger every day. She can already roll over from her tummy to her back, too! Mama goes back to work and Zoe goes to day care in less than a month, so we're really soaking her up all we can these days.

We also found several unedited videos taken from the first four months of Zach's life and put them together into a single "highlights" video. Check out the video gallery for Baby Zach: Birth to 4 months. You can visit our new video gallery page by clicking here, or use the links on the menu to the left.

04/19/05 - 9:28pm
Bob finally had enough down time during a business trip this week to work on editing some home videos taken with our new digital video camera. The video files are fairly large, but if you have the patience (especially those of you still on dialup service), they are well worth the wait. You can visit our new video gallery page by clicking here, or use the new link on the updated menu to the left.

04/10/05 - 9:57pm
As if we didn't have a full enough day yesterday, we took Zach & Zoe to the Houston Zoo today and were joined by our friends, Matt & Brooke. You can see our zoo pictures in the main photo gallery page using the links on the left.

04/09/05 - 8:28pm
Today Bob's employer rewarded its managers with a cookout and tickets to the Texas A&M "Maroon & White" Spring Football game. The whole family had a great time playing at the park, then Zach experienced his first-ever live Aggie football game with Daddy. He paid close attention throughout the entire game and really seemed to enjoy watching the players throw, catch, kick and run. He also loved the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band ("big horns") performance, clapping along throughout. Pictures of the cookout and the game can be viewed in the main photo gallery page using the links on the left.

03/19/05 - 7:40pm
WOW! It's amazing how raising a 2-year old and a 1-month old leaves you with so little "spare time" to do things like update a website! Zoe is already a month old, and we have pictures to prove it in the new Our Growing Girl photo album. Be sure to check back monthly for the latest growing-up photos of Zoe! We've also taken plenty of pictures over the past month while Zoe's extended family came to meet & greet her. You can see those pictures in the photo gallery as well. We added a few more photos from the past month to our Fun Pics album, too. And finally, just today Bob's employer hosted its 3rd annual Easter Event (Easter egg hunt & cookout) for employees & their families. Once again, Zach demonstrated his expert egg hunting skills and came away with lots of goodies.

All of these latest photo additions can be found in the main photo gallery page using the links on the left.

02/24/04 - 10:39am
Here's the photo of Zoe taken by the hospital. In spite of her appearance, she is NOT wearing makeup or making a kissy face! :)

Zoe's Hospotal Photo

02/18/05 - 7:56am
Little Zoe was born today at 7:56am CST! Pictures from her first day ("Baby Zoe's Arrival") are available by visiting the main photo gallery page using the links on the left.

02/07/05 - 8:25pm
Jenn's coworkers threw her a surprise baby shower today during lunch. She has a great group of friends up there who apparently think the world of her! Thanks to Joan P. for the photos we posted to our photo gallery.

02/06/05 - 8:12pm
OK, so we fell a little behind on updating the website. Since the last update in early November we've been busy with Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Zach's birthday and Bob's birthday...and of course, the pregnancy marches on! To make up for the delay, we have updated the site color schemes, revamped the photo gallery formats, added five new photo gallery sections, and updated our Growing Boy album with Zach's 18-month and 2-year photos. And be sure to come back soon because our baby girl is due in less than a month!

11/03/04 - 9:35pm
Halloween 2004 was a blast! Zach dressed up as a lion and played the part convincingly...vicious growl and all. On the 29th we participated in the annual pumpkin carving contest and Halloween Carnival hosted by Jenn's employer. Then on Halloween night Zach went trick-or-treating for the first time and had a great time scoring lots of candy for Mama & Daddy. You can see this year's Halloween pictures in the main photo gallery page using the links on the left.

The 29th was also Brian's birthday (Bob's brother) and we went to Waco on the 30th to celebrate with family. Unfortunately the celebration took an unexpected turn as we attended the Texas A&M vs. Baylor football game and witnessed the Aggies lose to the Bears for the first time since 1985. No photos from that event, thank goodness.

10/26/04 - 9:50pm
We carved our pumpkin tonight! More pictures to come once Halloween actually gets here...

Halloween 2004

10/17/04 - 3:40pm
Today we went to the Texas Renaissance Festival with our friends (and neighbors) the Buckhaultses. It was Bob & Zach's first trip and Jenn's first return after 10 years. We strolled past the numerous shops and entertainers and enjoyed a falconry show, a Medieval Jousting Tournament and even The Ded Bob Show. You can see pictures from our visit to "Ren Fest" in the main photo gallery page using the links on the left.

10/08/04 - 7:47pm
Zach had fall pictures made at school a couple of weeks ago and they were ready today. We got a fairly large package with all three poses, so there's plenty to go around...plus we can always print more if needed. Click on each picture to see the larger version.

10/05/04 - 9:54pm
Zach and his new puppy, Sally, took a trip to the local park on Sunday. Zach enjoyed the swings and the slides while Sally enjoyed a romp in the field. You can see pictures taken at the park in the main photo gallery page using the links on the left.

10/01/04 - 10:43pm
We had our 18-week sonogram this morning and found out that Zach's getting a little sister! The estimated due date is March 3rd, 2005. Jenn survived a very rough first trimester and is feeling much better these days. Zach doesn't quite comprehend what exactly is going on yet, but he does "kiss the baby" (Mama's belly). Won't be long before our "office" is converted to pink!

08/03/04 - 10:07pm
It's official! For those who haven't heard yet, Little Zach will become a Big Brother in early March! Here's the first picture of our new baby:

06/13/04 - 8:14pm
In a rare act of spontaneity, we took Zach on his first trip to the Houston Zoo today. He loves his animal toys and books and can even make some animal sounds if you ask him, so we figured he was ready. It was hot and humid, but he seemed to have a great time. You can see our zoo pictures in the main photo gallery page using the links on the left.

05/01/04 - 7:00pm
GREAT NEWS! We bought a house! Construction started in January and we closed and moved in on April 28th. Our photo album shows construction photos from start to finish.

04/16/04 - 8:03pm
Spring is in the air and we took our annual bluebonnet pictures the first weekend in April. Then, on the Saturday before Easter, Zach participated in an Easter Egg hunt and made out like a bandit! You can see both sets of pictures in the main photo gallery page using the links on the left.

03/04/04 - 5:40pm
Zach had his picture made at day care a few weeks ago. We picked up the prints yesterday afternoon. Here are the two we chose to keep:

01/18/04 - 9:21pm
With a little "encouragement" from Zach's Aunt Alissa, photos of his birthday party held last weekend (1/11) have now been added to the original "cupcake demolition" photos taken on his actual birthday (1/7).

01/07/04 - 8:33pm
"Baby" Zach ain't a baby no more! Today he became a ONE YEAR OLD little boy! Since his birthday fell on a Wednesday this year, his party will be held on Sunday. We couldn't wait to celebrate, though, and gave Zach his first chocolate cupcake for dessert tonight. Of course, we had to take photos. You can see the photos in the main photo gallery page using the links on the left. His one year photo has also been posted to Our Growing Boy photo album as well.

Christmas photos from Grandpa Rich's house have now been posted, too. Oh, and we were right...Zach officially started walking (more than one or two steps) on Christmas Eve!

12/07/03 - 9:36am
Zach turned 11 months old today! Two weeks ago Zach had to have tubes put in his ears, and he seems to be feeling so much better since then. Over the Thanksgiving weekend Zach made his first trips to Uncle Bubba's house in Houston and Grammie Rich's house in Austin where he continued to try new foods. He hasn't turned anything down yet! Last month Zach also learned how to wave bye-bye and he claps and dances to music. Mama & Daddy also think he'll be walking by Christmas!

We couldn't agree on which picture to use for Zach's 11 month photo, so we decided to post TWO of them. Zach's 11 month pictures are now in Our Growing Boy photo album.

11/09/03 - 5:51pm
Zach turned 10 months old on the 7th! He has learned how to point at things, clap his hands, and even walks while holding on to Mama or Daddy with both hands. Zach has continued building his vocabulary, including "Mama" and "Dada" (though he hasn't quite yet associated them with Mama & Daddy yet). He's also started eating table food like Cheerios and Mama's homemade stew. You can see Zach's 10 month picture in Our Growing Boy photo album.

11/03/03 - 7:04pm
Hope everyone had a safe, fun, and happy Halloween! We took Zach to Jenn's office for their annual Halloween Festival and he had a ball. Visit the Photo Gallery for this year's Halloween pics.

10/28/03 - 9:19pm
It's a couple of days early, but Zach wanted to share his thoughts about Halloween. Click here to see what he has to say.

10/07/03 - 7:28pm
The past month was a little rough for Zach. He contracted pink eye from one of his classmates at day care (which he also shared with Daddy) and he endured yet another ear infection. The teething process and all that goes with it has also continued. The good news is that he has recovered from his ailments and seems to be feeling great now. Also, one of his top front teeth has poked through and the other doesn't seem too far behind! You can see Zach's 9 month picture in Our Growing Boy photo album.

09/07/03 - 7:35pm
We have a breakthrough! Zach is 8 months old today and is proudly displaying his first two teeth which showed up a little over a week ago. Zach can crawl on his hands and knees, but prefers his faster "wounded soldier" crawl across his room. He can also pull up to a standing position fairly easily and has started babbling more recognizable syllables. Check out Zach's 8 month photo (with a zoom in on his teeth) in Our Growing Boy photo album.

08/07/03 - 8:20pm
Zach is 7 months old today, which also happens to be his Grammie Rich's birthday (Happy Birthday, Grammie!). Zach's latest accomplishment is pulling up to his hands and knees and rocking back and forth like he's revving up...we can tell he'll be crawling any minute now! Check out Zach's 7 month photo in Our Growing Boy photo album.

07/28/03 - 6:37pm
Last week Bob had to go to San Francisco for a business trip, but fortunately this trip allowed for a little more siteseeing than the last one. For photos of Bob's travels through the Bay Area, visit the main photo gallery page using the links on the left.

07/13/03 - 12:32am
The "FlyFolk.com" web site by Brian and Alissa Rich is now up and has been added to "Our Friends" page. Take a look when you get the chance!

FlyFolk.com is another site hosted by our good friends at The Prime Host.

07/07/03 - 8:22pm
"Baby" Zach is 6 months old today! He is already eating cereal & fruit and just recently started on some vegetables. Just last Wednesday while watching Daddy play soccer, Zach started sitting up on his own (with no support around him) for several minutes at a time. His official 6 month photo demonstrates this and can be found in Our Growing Boy photo album.

06/30/03 - 8:35pm
We had another full schedule this past weekend. On Saturday we went to Jenn's Family Reunion (Mom's side) in Navasota. Then on Sunday we attended Astros Fan Photo Day, followed by the Astros vs. Rangers baseball game. Both sets of photos can be found by visiting the main photo gallery page using the links on the left.

06/25/03 - 9:37pm
We figured out who Zach looks like (so far).
Look at those cheeks!

06/22/03 - 8:15pm
This weekend we made our annual trip to Lake Whitney to hang out with some of Bob's high school friends. We usually make a whole weekend of it...swimming, skiing, barbequeuing, play cards & dominoes, etc. This year was a bit different with three of the couples expecting and Zach making his debut appearance, so we just went for the afternoon this time. Of course, we're not allowed to go to Whitney without stopping in Waco to see Grandpa Rich. We were fortunate to also see Zach's Uncle Brian & Aunt Alissa while we were there. For photos from the weekend in Waco & Whitney, visit the main photo gallery page using the links on the left.

Brian & Alissa also took some photos during our visit. Click here for more photos of the family (mostly Zach), or click here for more basketball photos. (Brian played with only one hand and STILL beat Bob!)

06/17/03 - 10:46pm
This past weekend we spent Father's Day weekend in Houston with Zach's Grandma & PawPaw Boren. Zach got to hang out and play with several of his aunts, uncles, and cousins as well. For photos of the weekend, visit the main photo gallery page using the links on the left.

06/08/03 - 9:47pm
Zach turned 5 months old yesterday. Unfortunately, he was sick with what appears to be a repeat ear infection. He'll be going to the doctor again tomorrow. In the meantime, we were able to get a cute picture for his 5 month photo. You can find it in Our Growing Boy photo album.

05/26/03 - 7:45pm
Congratulations to our niece Stephanie on her upcoming graduation from Bowie High School in Austin! Stephanie's mom Laura (Jenn's oldest sister) and family threw Stephanie a great party, and for the 3rd weekend in a row we were treated to lots of food and fun! For photos of Stephanie's graduation party, visit the main photo gallery page using the links on the left.

05/17/03 - 10:45pm
Cox Media (Jenn's employer) had its company picnic today. Once again we were treated to lots of food and fun! Visit our Photo Gallery for pictures of the event.

05/11/03 - 5:52pm
Zach's Grandpa Rich turned 55 years (or 11/20 of a century) old yesterday! To celebrate he hosted a "Campground Cookout" birthday party on Lake Waco. It was a full weekend of family, food, and fun festivities.

Check out the photos from Grandpa's birthday by visiting the main photo gallery page using the links on the left.

05/07/03 - 7:07am
Zach is four months (or 1/3 year) old today! He smiles constantly, laughs occassionally and has even started singing!

We've added Zach's 4-month photo to Our Growing Boy photo album. He's already anxious for Aggie Football just like his Daddy!

04/18/03 - 6:55pm
Happy Easter!
Zach's First Easter

04/07/03 - 6:04pm
Zach is three months (or 1/4 year) old today! He started day care last Tuesday at "A Special Place" when Mama went back to work, and he's done great so far (though it was probably harder for us).

We've added Zach's 3-month photo to Our Growing Boy photo album. He already looks so grown up! By the way, for those of you who think we only take one picture of Zach each month, get a load of THIS!

03/07/03 - 3:22pm
Another month has already gone by and Zach is two months old today! Today he had his 2 month checkup at the doctor and got his first round of shots. It hurt a little, but he got over it quickly. After that we visited Kinder Care where Zach may spend his days when Mama goes back to work in April. We'll see...

We've added Zach's 2-month photo to Our Growing Boy photo album...ain't he a cutie?!

02/07/03 - 9:00pm
Can you believe it? Zach is already one month old today! We added another page in the photo gallery with pictures from his birth through today for comparison. We'll update Our Growing Boy photo album monthly so everyone can see how fast he is growing up!

02/02/03 - 11:11pm
There is a new link on our Friends page for the Technos softball team home page. Since we won't be able to play with them much this softball season, we're contributing to our team by helping with the website design and by taking pictures at practices and games. Check out the site so far, and stay tuned for updates throughout the season...

02/01/03 - 1:02pm
Today is a sad day.

01/26/03 - 5:25pm
We had more visitors yesterday to celebrate Bob's 30th birthday and to see Baby Zach. Pictures are now posted in the photo gallery.

01/19/03 - 12:07pm
Zach's Uncle Brian and Aunt Alissa sent some pictures they took during their visit last weekend. We added them to the "Family Visits Zach I" photo album. Thanks Brian & Alissa!

01/14/03 - 8:04pm
Little Zach is already one week old today! To celebrate, we added an age counter for him at the top of the page so everyone can keep up with how fast he's growing!

01/12/03 - 6:00pm
Pictures from yesterday's family visits are now posted in the photo gallery. A few videos from yesterday will be posted soon.

01/11/03 - 10:45pm

Zach got to meet several of his extended family today: Great Grandma Rich, Grandma & PawPaw Boren, Great Uncle Ray, Aunt Laura, and Uncle Brian & Aunt Alissa. The initial photos of Zach at the hospital should be posted tonight, and the pictures & videos from today's visits will be posted within the next few days.

01/07/03 - 3:01pm
Little Zach was born today at 3:01pm CST! Didn't we say yesterday he would be here any minute? Pictures should hopefully be posted by the weekend.

01/06/03 - 10:00pm
We're anxiously awaiting the arrival of our first child, Zachary Edward Rich. Although officially due January 15, we're actually expecting him to come a little early. The way things have progressed the past couple of days, he could be here any minute! Stay tuned!!

01/05/03 - 5:30pm
RichAggies.com is now up and running. This site is dedicated to keeping our family and friends updated with our latest news, photos, and videos. It also provides an easy method for everyone to keep in touch with us via the message board or email. The first sets of photos are up, but we really created this site in anticipation of sharing literally hundreds of baby pictures once our little one is born. More to come!
